1. What Is a Sport Picker Wheel?
A Sport Picker Wheel is an interactive random sport
generator that helps you decide what to play, watch, or train for
without endless back-and-forth. Add a list of sports, spin the wheel,
and let it randomly land on one for you.
When a group can't agree on what to play at recess, in
PE class, or during
family game night, a sport wheel removes the debate entirely — every sport on the
wheel has an equal chance of being chosen.
Beyond settling arguments, the wheel doubles as a lightweight training
and variety tool. Coaches can use it to mix up drills, fitness
enthusiasts can use it to avoid workout ruts, and sports fans can use
it to decide which game to watch tonight.
The wheel comes with quick presets covering 9 categories — Ball,
Water, Combat, Winter, Racket, Extreme, Athletics, Team, and Solo
Sports — spanning 45+ sports in total, or you can build a completely
custom list from scratch.
2. How to Use This Spinner?
Using the Sport Picker Wheel takes only a few simple steps.
1
Pick a category, or start blank
Tap a preset chip — Ball, Water, Combat, Winter, Racket, Extreme,
Athletics, Team, or Solo — to instantly load that category onto
the wheel, or start from the default list and build your own.
2
Add or remove sports
Type a sport into the field and press Enter to add it one at a
time, or remove any entry with the ✕ button next to it.
3
Bulk paste a full list
Have a long list already written down? Open
Bulk Paste Sports and drop in every entry at once
instead of typing them individually.
4
Customize the settings
Adjust spin music, spin duration, and whether the winning sport
should be removed after each spin — handy for working through a
whole rotation without repeats.
5
Spin the wheel
Click Spin the Wheel or tap the center circle.
The wheel rotates and lands on one sport, chosen with equal odds
for every entry.
3. Wheel Customization
The Sport Picker Wheel gives you control over how the spinner behaves,
so you can match it to a gym class, a friend group, or a solo training
session.
You can change the spin music between a drum roll,
carnival tune, or fanfare — or turn it off entirely — and adjust the
spin duration to make each pick faster or more
dramatic.
Remove Winner After Spin automatically takes the
selected sport out of the wheel once it's chosen. This is useful for
cycling through an entire category — for example, rotating every
athlete through a different drill without repeating one before the
others.
Allow Duplicates lets you add the same sport more
than once, which effectively weights the wheel in its favor if you
want certain sports to come up more often. If you want a completely
fresh start, Clear All removes every current entry.
4. Adding Your Sports
Adding sports to the spinner is straightforward. The wheel starts with
a small default list, and the nine category presets above the entry
list let you swap in a full set — Ball Sports like football and
basketball, Water Sports like swimming and surfing, Combat Sports like
boxing and judo, Winter Sports like skiing and ice hockey, Racket
Sports like tennis and badminton, Extreme Sports like skateboarding
and rock climbing, Athletics like sprinting and gymnastics, plus
broader Team and Solo groupings.
For a custom mix, type any sport into the field and press Enter, or
use
Bulk Paste Sports to add a whole list — one per line
or comma-separated — in a single step. This is the fastest way to
build a workout rotation like HIIT, Yoga, Pilates, Running, and
Cycling.
Before spinning, scroll through your entries list to confirm
everything you want is included, or use Clear All to
start a completely new wheel.
5. How a Spin Is Decided
When you spin, the wheel rotates through every sport currently on it
and eventually stops on one at random. Each entry occupies an
equal-sized slice of the circle, so every sport has the same odds of
being picked regardless of how many times it's come up before.
The stopping point is generated using the Web Crypto API's
cryptographically secure random source, rather than a simple
pseudo-random function, so the outcome can't be predicted or
influenced ahead of time.
Once the wheel stops, the selected sport appears as the result. If
Remove Winner After Spin is enabled, that sport is
taken off the wheel before the next spin.
6. Saving & Sharing
Your entries are automatically saved in your browser while you use the
spinner, so you don't have to rebuild your list every time you come
back.
If you want other people to spin the exact same wheel — a coach
sharing a drill rotation with a team, or a friend group deciding what
to play — click Share Wheel to copy a link. Anyone
who opens that link sees the same list of sports, ready to spin.
To start over with a different set of sports, use
Clear All and add a new list, or simply tap a
different category preset.
7. Auto-Save Your Wheel
Your wheel entries are automatically saved to your browser's local
storage, so you can return to the page later without re-entering your
list.
This makes it easy to keep using the same sport wheel across multiple
sessions — open the page again and your previously saved entries will
already be loaded.
Saved entries are stored locally in your browser, which means they're
specific to the browser and device you use. Clearing your browser's
site data will remove them.
